Devon B&B: Jurassic art to get a serious boost

Guests staying at a Devon B&B can soon expect to enjoy a feast for the eyes after a new co-ordinator was hired to bring art to life on the Jurassic Coast.

Daisy Sutcliffe has been tasked with unifying artists, communities and local groups based in the World Heritage site to make incredible works of art.

This will involve supporting and developing a wide variety of art projects, collaborations, events and festivals that share a common backdrop of this breathtaking coastline.

Nick Capaldi, executive director for the south-west region of Arts Council England, told the Midweek Herald that "we are delighted to support this ground-breaking programme".

"The Jurassic Coast is an inspirational setting and where the eyes of the world will be upon us during the 2012 Olympics."

"The work will provide the opportunity to bring the very best arts from the south west and beyond to reach out and inspire residents and visitors," he added.

With a new organisational thrust behind Jurassic Coast art, people staying at a Devon B&B can look forward to an excellent range of exhibitions and attractions.
