Devon B&B: Visitors look forward to a taste of Devon
Anyone staying at a Devon B&B next month can look forward to an incredible event showcasing the best food and drink that the county has to offer.
Hundreds of people are expected to descend on the village of Abbotskerswell on September 26th for the mouth watering event, Abbfest.
A huge marquee will be erected at Fermoys Garden Centre to host the proceedings, including a full-size kitchen for a variety of cookery demonstrations.
Horn of Plenty restaurant chef Peter Gorton will give a demonstration, alongside South West chef of the year Tim Bouget and the Galley restaurant's Paul de Costa Greaves.
Sarah Dumont from Fermoys told the Herald Express that thanks to over 50 local food producers "the marquee is always a vibrant, cheerful mix of local characters".
She added that everyone is "working together to produce a snapshot of Devon's best, whether it be a simple selection of organic fruit and veg, or the magical aroma of freshly cooked bread".
There will also be 120 ales to sample at the show and all proceeds will go to local charities with organisers hoping to beat the £10,000 that was raised last year.
