Thousands of people staying at an Oxfordshire B&B last weekend opted to visit the Game Fair and enjoy its many attractions.

Over 151,000 people visited the festival during the three days, which was an increase of 13,000 on the previous year.

Based at the historic Blenheim Palace, the Game Fair featured expositions of country sports, alongside food and agriculture displays and stalls.

David Hough, show director, told Farmers Weekly that the 50th anniversary of the event alongside the incredible venue played a part in boosting visitor numbers.

"This is a huge event bringing tens of thousands of extra people into the area every day and generating a multi-million pound boost for the local economy."

"It has been an absolutely brilliant event. The atmosphere all around the showground has been fantastic and there has been a real buzz around the place for all three days," he added.

Organisers believe that this was the best Game Fair ever, which will no doubt be seconded by guests staying at an Oxfordshire B&B.
