Cumbria B&B: Walking festival goes ahead in the county
Television presenter Nick Crane will join people from all over as the country as they descend on Cumbria this weekend for the Coniston Walking Festival.
Guests staying at a Cumbria B&B will be able to walk alongside Coast presenter Mr Crane on a series of hearty excursions into the peaks.
Mr Crane previously lived and worked in a youth hostel in Coniston and therefore Cumbria holds a special position to him.
"Although now I live in central London, part of my soul is in Britain's wildest places and the Lake District represents this vast mountain garden and perfect landscape," he told the Dudley News.
"The scale of it is ideal for all ages and all groups and I am really looking forward to coming back to Coniston," he added.
The three-day event begins this Friday and features a variety of walks suitable to all ages, tastes and fitness levels.
People staying at a B&B can also visit the festival to see a range of outdoor art and music, as well as hear a variety of talks on subjects such as mountain skills training.
