Visitors staying at an Edinburgh B&B will soon be able to get around the city with greater ease after multi-million pound transport plans were unveiled.

The Evening News reports that around £50 million will be invested in transport improvements to support the regeneration of the waterfront area in the Scottish capital.

Local council officials intend to create a sound transport infrastructure for the large numbers of visitors expected to come to the area when the scheme is finished.

Main developer Forth Ports is contributing the lion's share of the funds, including £29 million to create a new tram line to Leith docks.

The plans also include reorganisation and improvement of road transport links to deliver enhanced public transport connections.

Moreover, people staying at an Edinburgh B&B can also benefit from a more effective cycle-lane network and a better bus service in the area.
