Edinburgh B&B: Major revamp underway at Edinburgh leisure centre

A sports centre in Edinburgh is to undergo a major revamp which will provide fantastic new modern leisure facilities for guests staying at an Edinburgh B&B.

The Craiglockhart sports centre is about to get a £2.5 million redevelopment, including a brand new outside appearance which will make it look like timber clad drum.

Moreover, when the work is finished, people will be able to work out in the enhanced gym area which has a view of the Craiglockhart pond.

Michael Pinkerton, Edinburgh Leisure spokesman, told the Scotsman that there will be more space and bigger fitness kit, including 42 pieces of cardiovascular and 27 pieces of resistance equipment.

"We'll have a new, larger fitness studio for our sports programme so we can fit more people in the classes to cope with demand," he explained. "We're also going to add a new studio which will house classes like yoga and pilates."

The work is expected to be finished by next summer after which people staying at an Edinburgh B&B will be able to work out in the state-of-the-art facilities.
