Blackpool B&B: New project to bring historic Blackpool back to life

Guests staying at Blackpool B&B will this weekend be able to take a journey into the history of the resort as a new archive goes on show.

The Bloomfield Talks project will be an online resource to showcase recollections, pictures, thoughts, sounds and words from Blackpool's history.

To mark this, there will be a free tea party with dancers, singers and performers on Saturday from 12:30 to 16:00 at the St Peters Church on Lytham Road.

During the event, the online archive will be beamed onto the wall so that people can explore what the resource has to offer.

Councillor Tony Williams, cabinet member for culture and communities, told the Blackpool Citizen that "the new archive will be a great addition to Blackpool's heritage".

"The memories of the residents of Blackpool will help future generations understand our history and I hope that people use the archives to their full extent," he added.

This online archive of Blackpool memories will surely prove a genuine delight for people staying at a Blackpool B&B.
