Sport-loving people staying at a Cornwall B&B could soon be enjoying high octane speedway competition if new plans are approved.

A proposed scheme has been submitted to North Cornwall District Council for a new speedway track to be created at Bodmin Rugby Club.

Ashley Taylor and Grahame Smith are behind the project and are now looking for speedway fans around the country to give the idea their backing.

John Roberts, of Cleave Design which has put together the project plan, stated to the West Briton his hopes that the plans would secure approval.

"We were successful in gaining planning permission for speedway at Plymouth Devils, Weymouth Wildcats and Exeter Falcons."

"We've had a good track record so far and hopefully if all goes well, we should see speedway racing at Bodmin in April," he added.

If these plans are approved, then people staying at a Cornwall B&B can soon look forward to watching this fantastic motorsport in the county.
