Edinburgh B&B: Spectacular send off planned for the QE2
People staying at an Edinburgh B&B will be able to view a spectacular send off for the iconic ship QE2 as it makes a final voyage along the Forth.
The cruise ship is currently taking its farewell journey before going to a new home as a floating hotel in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Launched in 1967, the QE2 was built on Clydebank and therefore massive crowds are expected to see the liner off when it passes through Scotland.
During tomorrow morning, the ship will be berthed off South Queensferry and accompanied by a flotilla of yachts and a flyby from four RAF Leuchars.
Lord Provost George Grubb told the Scotsman: "We are extremely proud that the QE2 is making its final voyage in Scottish waters so close to Edinburgh in the Forth Estuary."
"We are planning a spectacular and fitting send-off for the QE2 and one which everyone in Edinburgh can come out and enjoy," he added.
The chance to say goodbye to such a historic ship in British history will surely prove too good to miss for guests staying at an Edinburgh B&B.
