The inaugural Bike Blenheim Palace event proved a real hit among guests staying at an Oxfordshire B&B when it went ahead earlier in the week.

Over 4,500 people flocked to the event on September 28th to watch the series of races being run in the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace.

A highlight of the day was the third Brompton World Championships where 500 riders came from around the world to compete.

Paul Orsi, event organiser, told Bike Radar that he was "delighted with the success of the inaugural Bike Blenheim Palace event".

"So many aspects of cycling came together for a great day out and it really was the festival of cycling that we hoped it would be."

"The planning is already underway for 2009 and we have many ideas of how to make this event even bigger and better," he added.

This festival of all things cycling proved an excellent attraction for guests staying at an Oxfordshire B&B and organisers hope that it will get even more popular next year.
