Guests staying at a Devon B&B will soon be able to experience some exciting and unusual new projects which will run at one of the county's museums.

This follows a grant of around £8,000 being awarded to the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon to run new natural history schemes.

Local artist Peter Stiles is behind the series of projects which will investigate the seaweed and marine biology specimens that are held at the museum.

This forms part of Darwin 200 campaign which will run during February 2009 and celebrate the bicentenary of the famous naturalist Charles Darwin.

Claire Gulliver, from MLA South West which has developed the programme, told the North Devon Gazette: "It is unprecedented for museums and artists to work together on this kind of regional scale."

"The energy generated by ten exciting and unusual projects happening simultaneously over the coming months is a mouth-watering prospect for existing and new audiences," she added.

This stimulating new series of projects in Devon will no doubt prove a genuine attraction among people staying at a B&B in the county.
