Devon B&B: X Factor style contest to be held in the county
Guests staying at a Devon B&B could win a major cash prize and become an ambassador of the county as part of a new competition.
Later this month, Visit Devon will host open auditions in Exeter, Barnstaple and Plymouth to discover the best new ambassador to promote the county around the UK.
Following this, three finalists will be identified and allocated a budget to organise a publicity campaign to run in January 2009.
Judges will asses each campaign and then decide the winner who will take the top award including a cash prize of £10,000.
Nicola Poultney, chief executive of Visit Devon, said: "In our X Factor style auditions we are searching for people who are outgoing and prepared to share their love for the county and their secrets on why Devon is such a special place to visit for business or leisure."
"We are hoping to find the county's finest ambassadors who are prepared to do whatever it takes to engage the nation and tempt more visitors to Devon," she added.
The chance to represent Devon and its many fantastic B&B's will no doubt prove a huge attraction to people in the county.
