Guests staying at an Oxfordshire B&B this week may well have seen alternative television chefs the Hairy Bikers who were in Oxford for a new series.

The Hairy Bikers, Simon King and Dave Myers, were in Oxford filming a BBC2 series which is currently under the working title Food Round the British Isles.

King and Myers filmed at the Rose, which is a restaurant and team room on Oxford's High Street where proprietor Marianne Bruel serves a range of freshly baked bread and cakes.

The duo are not professional chefs but as King explained to the Oxford Times: 'We just look for the right ingredients, new or ancient recipes, things we just get excited about and then work at it till we get results.'

During their Oxford visit, King and Myers also went to the award-winning Foxbury Farm and organic butchers M Fellows Son & Daughter in Oxford's Covered Market, which is a favourite attraction for people staying at an Oxfordshire B&B.

They also plan to film sequences at the Kingham Plough, Kingham, where Emily Watkins, who trained under Heston Blumenthal, is the head chef.
