In news that may be of interest to people planning a stay in a Blackpool B&B, Alice Hawkins is having a collection of her work displayed in a local gallery.

The Grundy Art Gallery will be showcasing the collection of over 60 urban portraits taken by the 29-year-old photographer through to July 11th, with the exhibition focusing on cities ranging from the Japanese capital of Tokyo to Las Vegas.

Ms Hawkins' acclaimed work traverses fine art and fashion, while the exhibition also features a section on entertainers in Blackpool itself.

Councillor Tony Williams, cabinet member for culture and communities, said: "It's wonderful that such an exciting young photographer chose to make new work in Blackpool. Alice says she was attracted by the resort's unique glamour."

Guests staying in Blackpool B&Bs may be interested to learn that the Blackpool Gazette has reported on a new £14 million hotel development that has been authorised for the town's seafront.
