Devon B&B: Have a night at the museum in Devon

Guests staying at a Devon B&B this weekend can look forward to finding out what goes on at night in one of the county's museums.

The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon is opening its doors for a Night at the Museum on Saturday (May 16th) from 19:00 BST.

Launched by the French Department of Culture, La Nuit De Musee is being coordinated at museums throughout Europe, with 2,200 venues in 40 countries taking part last year.

Ruth Spires, heritage access officer at the museum, said: "The museum team is really looking forward to this new venture and showing visitors the museum in a different light.

"We hope that it will continue for many years to come."

Interest is also expected to grow due to the imminent release of Hollywood movie Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.

This unusual evening of entertainment in one of the county's museums will no doubt prove a real treat for people staying at a Devon B&B.
