People staying in Blackpool B&Bs recently may have seen, or even taken part in, an attempt to set a new world record for the largest dance class.

Marcquelle Ward, the 25-year-old star of television dance drama series Britannia High, led the event that involved around 600 people ranging in age from just five months to 80-years-old, reports the Blackpool Gazette.

Everyone who took part gave a donation to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and the organisers are now waiting for the official word as to whether the existing record of 626 dancers was broken.

Mr Ward told the paper: "Whether we have succeeded in the world record attempt or not, it was great fun, everyone was smiling and it has helped raised money for an important charity."

He added that he was pleased to see so many people of such different age groups joining in with the dance routines and following the moves.

In other news, people staying in Blackpool B&Bs may be interested by a report from pr-inside.com that the Ultimate Elvis Experience will be taking place in August at the Queens Hotel Blackpool.
