People staying in a Cornwall B&B in June might be interested to visit the Queen of the Surf, a special charity day where women can learn to surf while raising money.

The event will be held in Newquay on Sunday July 19th on Fistral beach and is being organised by Hibiscus Surf School, while women attending the event will get a free goody bag from sponsor Sola UK.

Women will be able to get more than four hours of training from expert instructors and will be divided into ability groups to cater for both experienced individuals and beginners.

Frances Carter from Hibiscus Surf School said: "This is the fifth year we have organised the event and have raised nearly £2,000 for research into breast cancer. We aim to make it fun for all the family, but more importantly all profits raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK."

Cornwall B&B guests might have heard that a Travelodge poll has placed Cornwall as the most popular UK destination for holidaymakers this year.
