People staying in a Cumbria B&B last week may have caught sight of 90 people helping out in a charity house move in Maryport.

Xtreme 13 is a local body that arranges regular charity events to raise money for a wide range of organisations, with all activities centred around the number 13, reports the Times and Star.

The most recent event involved 90 people carrying the contents of a home in a 13km house move starting from Workington's Moorclose pub and raising money for the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance.

Events organised in recent years have included swimming 13 lochs, a biggest liar competition that got the support of 13 businesses and a project that involved raising money for 13 football strips for use in the Gambia.

Nearly £13,000 has been raised over the years as a result of the various charitable events.

Cumbria B&B guests may also have taken part in an Ale Trail that the Whitehaven News recently reported was due to be held in Cockermouth over the weekend.
