<title><![CDATA[Oxfordshire B&B: Beloved Oxford pub set to be rebuilt]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[Guests at <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Oxfordshire/" target="_self">Oxfordshire B&amp;Bs</a> will once more be able to visit a popular Oxford pub as it is set to be rebuilt following a devastating fire last year.<br/><br/>The Perch in Binsey caught fire on May 8th after a chimney flue malfunctioned and turned the thatched roof into an inferno.<br/><br/>Around 80 fire-fighters struggled to save the 17th century public house, which had previously experienced a blaze almost thirty years ago. <br/><br/>The roof was destroyed and the interior suffered heavy damage but work to restore the building to its former glory started in January. <br/><br/>Johnny Mignon, the pub manager, told thisisoxfordshire.co.uk that he hoped to open the venue at the start of July. <br/><br/>&quot;Once the thatching has been completed, we will focus more on the pub's interior but I am confident that the work will be finished on schedule.&quot; <br/><br/>&quot;It's beautiful weather at the moment, so all the staff are looking forward to having the pub open again at the centre of the village,&quot; he added.<br/><br/>Mr Mignon plans to run a fete on July 20th to celebrate the pub's re-opening, which will no doubt prove a major attraction for people staying at an <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Oxfordshire/" target="_self">Oxfordshire B&amp;B</a>.   <br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1180-ID-18584330-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1180&itemid=18584330" />]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Blackpool B&B: New investment set for Blackpool Airport]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[People travelling to stay in a <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Lancashire/Blackpool/" target="_self">Blackpool B&amp;B</a> will be happy to hear that Blackpool Airport is due for major investment after it was bought by a private company.<br/><br/>Balfour Beatty has acquired the airport for &#163;14 million and could now invest millions more in enhancing the complex. <br/><br/>The construction corporation also owns Exeter International Airport where passenger numbers have risen from 300,000 to one million since the takeover.<br/><br/>Around &#163;6 million has already been earmarked to improve Blackpool Airport taxiways and local regeneration officials are hoping that this is just a taste of things to come. <br/><br/>Doug Garrett, chief executive of a Blackpool regeneration company, told the Blackpool Gazette that the sale was &quot;good news&quot; for the resort. <br/><br/>&quot;Balfour Beatty has deeper pockets than the previous owners and operational experience of handling airports.&quot;<br/><br/>&quot;We want to be able to stable more aircraft at Blackpool and that will help with the development of more routes,&quot; he added.<br/><br/>It is now hoped that more airlines will choose to fly into Blackpool, bringing more visitors to the many fantastic <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Lancashire/Blackpool/" target="_self">Blackpool B&amp;Bs</a>.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1180-ID-18584318-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1180&itemid=18584318" />]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Cornwall B&B: Cornwall seal sanctuary welcomes new resident]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[The national seal sanctuary near Gweek, Cornwall has become a popular attraction for families staying at a <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Cornwall/" target="_self">Cornwall B&amp;B</a> and recently had an unexpected new arrival.<br/><br/>A grey seal pub with a snowy white coat was recently brought in, despite the birthing season generally finishing in January. <br/><br/>Staff at the sanctuary named the animal April and administered treatment for a minor lung infection. <br/><br/>Tamara Cooper, animal care supervisor, told the BBC that the pup was a bit underweight when it was first brought in but that April is now looking much healthier<br/><br/>She also warned the public against disturbing pups, as there can be occasions when the mothers are away feeding and will eventually return to their off-spring.<br/><br/>&quot;The public should keep a safe distance and observe for a while before making any action, and always call for expert advice,&quot; she added.  <br/><br/>Based around the beautiful Helford estuary, the National Seal Sanctuary has become a key attraction for guests staying at a <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Cornwall/" target="_self">Cornwall B&amp;B</a>. <br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1180-ID-18582125-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1180&itemid=18582125" />]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Edinburgh B&B: New 'green' bus route link to Edinburgh]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[Guests staying at an <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Lothian/Edinburgh/" target="_self">Edinburgh B&amp;B</a> will have a more environmentally friendly way to travel out of the city as a new 'green' bus route is set to launch. <br/><br/>Stagecoach is to launch Scotland's first ever carbon-neutral bus service to run in addition to its current climate change plan which includes using five per cent biodiesel across the fleet. <br/><br/>The carbon neutral service will cover journeys between Fife and Edinburgh and include destinations such as Edinburgh Airport, Glenrothes and the Gyle shopping centre. <br/><br/>Collaboration with charity Global Trees will see 140,000 trees planted in what could save 21,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions from the fleet.  <br/><br/>Brian Souter, Stagecoach chief executive, said that this is an exciting initiative which is &quot;setting the standard&quot; for greener bus travel.  <br/><br/>&quot;There is an increasing awareness about the impact of people's behaviour on the environment.&quot;<br/><br/>&quot;We hope this innovative project will promote intelligent car-use, encourage more people to get on board public transport and help protect the planet,&quot; he added. <br/><br/>The conifer, Broadleaf and woodland trees will be planted in estates on the Buccleuch Woodlands, which is in the south of Scotland.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1180-ID-18582120-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1180&itemid=18582120" />]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Blackpool B&B: Music hall matinee set for Blackpool]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[A regular afternoon matinee of music hall performance is planned for Blackpool which will be a real treat for nostalgic guests staying at a <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Lancashire/Blackpool/" target="_self">Blackpool B&amp;B</a>. <br/><br/>Blackpool-based entertainment producer Duggie Chapman presents an all-star variety show featuring music, comedy and magic.  <br/><br/>Matinee Music Hall will run every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at the Winter Gardens Pavilion Theatre until the end of July.<br/><br/>Versatile musician Gordon Cree will perform both as a vocalist and playing a percussion instrument called the Marimba. <br/><br/>Cree is part of a cast of Blackpool-born entertainers, including comic Duggie Clark and musician Peter Lindup who will also host the show. <br/><br/>Soprano Beryl Johnson will also perform along with local magician Mark Raffles and they will all be backed by the Steve Clark band.  <br/><br/>Both young and old guests at a <a href="http://www.places2stay.co.uk/Bed-And-Breakfast/Lancashire/Blackpool/" target="_self">Blackpool B&amp;B</a> will no doubt find something to love at the Matinee Music Hall show.  <br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1180-ID-18580098-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1180&itemid=18580098" />]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Cornwall B&B: Performers announced for the Eden festival]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[Headline acts for this year's Eden Sessions have been announced which will be great news to people planning on staying in a Cornwall B&amp;B during June and July.<br/><br/>The event takes place at the now iconic bio-domes near St Austell situated close to the surfing resort of Newquay.<br/><br/>Eden's visitors centre was opened in May 2000, followed by the opening of the full-site a year later. <br/><br/>The venue has hosted various arts events, including Live 8 Africa Calling, and now the Eden Sessions returns for 2008. <br/><br/>Jack White's side project The Raconteurs will perform on June 29th, preceded by celebrated British rock group The Verve on June 27th.<br/><br/>Also performing will be Leeds band the Kaiser Chiefs and singer-songwriter KT Tunstall.<br/><br/>Previously, the likes of Pulp, Jose Gonzalez, Muse and Goldfrapp have all performed in what has become a popular attraction for people staying at a Cornwall B&amp;B. <br/><br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1180-ID-18578176-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1180&itemid=18578176" />]]></description>
